The little city of Eumundi is found in the Sun Coast hinterland, inland from Noosa and is simple to reach from anywhere on the coast with Campervan Hire Brisbane. It is well known for it's market which is iconic throughout the region, as well further out, with many stall holders and visitors coming from Brisbane for a little taste of a historic hinterland city.
Eumundi is a typical historical town complete along with very wide and shady streets. In reality the enormous trees are figs and have been heritage listed, many visitors going to Eumundi just to see them. You can absorb the atmosphere with the important buildings before venturing down to the markets.
While the markets are really the key feature (on a Saturday anyhow), there are also 6 attractive art studios to visit. There is some stunning Aboriginal art in the studios and also a good choice of latest design. If you love stained glass you'll find plenty to enjoy for hours. One of the special treats which you will barely see in Australia, is hot glass art, but you may happily not miss out at Eumundi.
Local artists also feature their work in the studios and are also available in the market itself. When you are worn out from looking at beautiful things, including boutique shopping, you could also visit the chocolate factory and sample some of the fine creations there along with watching them being specifically made in front of you.
Enjoy relaxing over lunch at one of the many cafes and diners or you could always try the classic pub. It is also worth dropping in at the Visitor Centre as there is a lot of info there about the historic buildings in the city in addition to the early history of Eumundi. Many people have such a great time, that they choose to stay the night also.
