Hershey Park Is Fun For People Of All Ages

By Chris Matthews

Hershey Park is located on PA-39 E, within easy driving distance of the Hampton Inn Harrisburg West. This popular vacation destination has been entertaining guests for more than a century and offers 110 acres of family fun.

Thrill rides can be found at every turn. Guests will find more than sixty rides with a good mix of water features, roller coasters and rides suitable for the little ones. Lines for some of the more popular coasters and water rides will be shorter just after the gates open.

Visitors to The Boardwalk will want to bring along a bathing suit. This water attraction keeps seasonal hours during the summer months and is a great substitution for a beach trip. The Shore offers a huge wave pool to frolic around in and the Tidal Force ride has a splash down that is among the tallest of its kind.

Small kids will love playing around at Sandcastle Cove with its giant castle featuring water curtains, cannons, slides and jets. Bigger kids will want to try out the Roller Soaker thrill ride that includes a water fight with spectators. Riders have access to squirt guns and sprayers directed at the people below while spectators return fire with huge sprayers.

Entertainment can be found around every corner. Strolling entertainers may burst into song at any time. The Milkmen, Wild Country and Frontier Frenzy offer musical entertainment for children and adults alike. The history of tap dance is the subject of Tap: The Show and the Amphitheatre is home to the musical Crystal Sneakers.

The animals steal the show over at the Aquatheatre. That is where Showdown at Cocoa Canyon features an adventure show starring sea lions and acrobats. Learn more about these playful creatures at the educational show called Our Friends of the Sea.

A variety of dining opportunities can be found with meal kiosks and snack stands located throughout the site. A number of full service restaurants may also be found including Tudor Grill with its interactive breakfast show experience.

Gift and souvenir shops are sprinkled throughout the attraction with everything from toys to tattoos. Chocolate treats are available for sale and the amusement park even offers guests the opportunity to buy chocolate currency that can be used like cash to purchase anything sold on the property.

Hampton Inn Harrisburg West offers an ideal base for an entertaining day at Hershey Park which is located just thirty miles away. Guests are invited to start the day with a complimentary hot breakfast. Rooms feature Internet access, a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. Property amenities include a heated swimming pool, fitness room and business center.
