Fasting is a great way to lose weight, because you cut all calories. Most of the best kick starter diets are based around fasting in some way or form as well. Things like the master cleanse, and many other types of diets have them as a focal point. But the Eat Stop Eat system takes it to the next level.

What you run into with most diets, is that they actually don't tell you what you need to do to cut calories but keep your metabolism high. They just give you a general outline of how they are supposed to work.

Basically you have to find a way that you can lose weight, without actually sending your body into emergency mode. That's a problem, because when your body goes into emergency mode you'll never lose the weight.

Through Eat Stop Eat you learn how you can cut enough calories so that you end up with a huge caloric deficit. But at the same time, you don't slow down your metabolism, so that your weight loss can remain a constant.

The biggest problem that you face with weight loss, is just finding a way that you can actually keep your losses consistent. Normally when you're on a diet for a long period of time, your body adapts and then you hit that annoying plateau.

If you want to lose weight fast, fasting is the only way that you're going to do that. But you still have to make sure that you're doing it the right way of course. You can't just fast and expect to see results.

Through this method, you're going to be fasting on some days, but then eating what you want to eat on other days. That results in a net calorie loss at the end of the week, but your metabolism will be the same.
